TrueBiz clients can opt-in to the network by informing their account manager.

What are the specific criteria for flagging a business as high-risk on the network?

If opted into the network, any merchants that are flagged on your Smart Blocklist as a Fraudulent Business or Fraudulent Application as then shared with the network.

How does the network ensure the privacy and security of shared information?

TrueBiz takes the security, privacy, and confidentiality of all data shared with us seriously. All risk sharing data is sent to our API securely by leveraging the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. Our API securely stores this in encrypted at rest storage housed in Tier 1 data centers managed by Amazon Web Security. To respect your privacy, we limit the amount of data asked for opting into the Merchant Risk Sharing Network - you provide the minimum data necessary (the website URL) to identify a bad actor you’ve already dealt with and a very high level fraud classification indicating if you suspect the merchant itself is fraudulent or the applicant is fraudulent.

How can we ensure that our company's proprietary information remains confidential when participating in the network?

When any subscriber to the Merchant Risk Sharing Network receives a notification that some parameters of an existing fraudulent application match the new application, we do not provide any context on the source of the original flag.

We do not share the fields that have matched or the source of the match, only that there is data that matches an existing fraudulent application in the Merchant Risk Sharing Network. In addition to this, TrueBiz leverages constant automated tests to prove that this data firewall is functioning correctly.

What types of businesses and credentials are stored in the Smart Blocklist?

Across the TrueBiz platform, our unique identifier for the business is their website homepage URL. We intentionally collect minimal data from our clients and depend on publicly available information about a business to build our analysis.

What kind of support does TrueBiz provide for implementing and utilizing these features?

All new customers are provided with batch upload functionality to include previously declined merchants in your Smart Blocklist. Our account managers will map your reason codes to the ones TrueBiz uses to help create a seamless transition.
